From Waterfront Park to Bulow Sugar Plantation

Waterfront Park
Setting up at Princess Place

Gorgeous views all around on our first plein air painting day at the beautiful Waterfront Park, on the ICW, in Palm Coast. I tried my hand at watercolor while learning a few techniques from Nan, Mary and Jackie. Dale took her oil paints around the bend and painted on the bridge, while the rest of us shared a shady spot by this view here.      It was warm and beautiful that day and I fell in love with plein air painting!
The next place we painted at was 'Princess Place Preserve', another amazing spot hidden off the beaten path down a long windy road through the jungley woods of Palm Coast! There's a thousand paintings waiting to happen here at this incredible location.
To Grandmothers House we go?
The old live oaks at that place just can't leave them alone....they beg to be photographed, sketched or something...Just magical!
Main House at Princess Place
That big old porch with rockers looking out over the water...
Here's Dale tackling an oil of the leaning Bath House. I took a picture, and then decided to sketch her as she painted. When and if I finish it I'll post it here. And here's
Dale's Bath House Painting!! Beautiful! Love her use of color! to see more click here

Well, for our next adventure we headed south to the Bulow Sugar Plantation off Old Kings Road. Up to now we've been spoiled with  typical sunny, warm Florida days. This day proved to be different...  What can I say, It was beautiful, but really cccccold! And we had bees!!
